Pushup Tracker ยท Last updated October 16, 2026
Short version: your workouts stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. We only receive data if you choose to join the optional leaderboard, and then only your account, nickname and scores. We never sell data or use it for ads.
Your workout data
Your reps, goals, streaks, notes, challenges and settings are stored on your device. A copy is kept in the app's private storage on your iPhone so nothing is lost if iOS clears temporary data. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it, except for your iCloud backup (below).
iCloud backup
If iCloud backup is on (it is by default, and you can turn it off in the app's Settings), your workout data is saved to your own iCloud account so you can restore it on a new phone. It is stored by Apple in your account; we can't access it.
Leaderboard and sign-in (optional)
The leaderboard is optional. If you join it, you sign in with Apple or with Google, and we store the following on our leaderboard service, which is hosted by Supabase:
- an account ID, the email address from Apple or Google (Apple lets you hide your real email), and the basic profile details they share, such as your name
- the nickname you choose
- your leaderboard scores: reps this week, total reps, best set and current streak
- reports you send about other players' nicknames
- your friends list: friend requests you send, accept or decline
- nudges you send to friends (who sent it, to whom, and when), so we can limit how often nudges are sent
- if you turn on nudge notifications, your phone's push notification token, so friends' nudges can reach you
- standard technical logs, such as IP addresses and sign-in times, which the service keeps for security
Other players can see only your nickname, icon and scores. Your friends can also see your weekly progress and streak, and can send you nudges. We use this data only to run the leaderboard and to deal with reports of offensive names. We don't sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to track you.
Google sign-in: if you sign in with Google, the app only requests your basic profile and email address, and uses them only to create and identify your leaderboard account. We don't access any other Google data. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Deleting your data: in the app, open the Ranks tab and tap Leave leaderboard. That permanently deletes your leaderboard account, email, nickname, scores, friends, nudges and push notification tokens from our service. Your workouts on your phone are not affected.
Apple Health and Apple Watch
If you turn on Save to Apple Health, finished workouts are saved to the Health app. During a workout, the Apple Watch app reads your heart rate and active calories to show them live and saves them with the workout in Health. Health data stays on your devices and in Apple Health; it is never sent to us or to the leaderboard, and never used for advertising.
Camera
If you turn on camera counting, the camera is used to detect your body position and count reps. The video is processed live on your device. It is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere.
Location and weather
If you allow location access, the app looks up the current temperature and humidity when you start a workout. To do this, your location coordinates are sent to the free weather service Open-Meteo for that single request. The weather reading and location are saved on your device with your sets. We don't receive your location. Location access is optional and you can turn it off in iOS Settings at any time.
Notifications
Workout reminders are scheduled on your device. If you turn on nudges from friends, your phone's push notification token is stored on our leaderboard service and used only to deliver those nudges, through Apple's push notification service. You can turn notifications off in iOS Settings at any time.
Analytics, ads and tracking
The app has no analytics, no advertising and no third-party tracking.
Children
The leaderboard is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has joined, contact us and we will delete the account.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
